CANCELLED-Superwomen Sunday

  • The Historic Ute Theatre 410 4th Street Saguache United States (map)

This event has been cancelled but we look forward to rescheduling! SUPERWOMEN SUNDAY:

THE MILLION DOLLAR MERMAID

Hosted by Sara Fernandez

Sunday, March 29, at 2pm

With positive responses to both Stand Still and Look Stupid, the one-woman show about the life Hede Lamarr, as well as our screening of Harriet, the award-winning movie about the life of Harriet Tubman, we have decided to host Superwomen Sundays.

One Sunday a month, we will host live events and/or movies that celebrate the stories of superwomen, be they well-known or not, historic or current.  We are all superwomen when we have the opportunity to fully embrace, express and celebrate our individuality; we are as diverse as the eras, places, and ways in which we effect positive change in the world.

Our next Superwomen Sunday, March 29, at 2pm, will feature The Million Dollar Mermaid in celebration of the life of Esther Williams.  Renowned primarily for her dazzling synchronized swimming roles in Hollywood films, should also be remembered for her record-breaking competitive swimming as well as her success as an entrepreneur.

This event will be hosted by Saguache’s very own Sara Fernandez, who has an extensive background in synchronized swimming, having not only swum for the Worthington (OH)  Swim Team and Water Ballet team and having swum with and served as president of the University of Montana Aquamaids back in the day!
